Crystal said that she is OK if we put it above our fireplace. Dave just printed off an 13 x 14 just for that purpose. I took the picture to school and almost everyone noticed Ryan's and Crystal's smile and then quickly realized why. Numerous photos have been taken with a cell phone and sent across the country.

This was the best of the family pictures. Notice the smile on Crystal's face. Any guesses as to why????? I think, personally, I will have to go with another choice to hang over my fireplace.

Matthew's Trip to the Infirmary

After a harrowing toboggan ride behind the back of a ski patrol snowmobile, Matthew was quoted as saying, "Oh, crap! Never plant the front of your snowboard into the bottom of a jump". Dave demonstrated his incredible skiing technique (shelved for 25 years) as he raced down the RACE COURSE!!! in an effort to get to Matthew. WOW!! Chrissy and I were impressed.

Happy First Birthday to Jayden! What a great party. Alexis and Travis threw an "over the top" party at their house for Jayden complete with his own birthday cake! Almost everyone was able to make the party making the grand total of attendees about 30. I know Alexis appreciated all who attended but we did, too. We know that many family members traveled a long way and took time out of their weekend to celebrate this special day especially, Amanda and Hadlee, Grandma Carol, Grandpa and Grandma Avery, and Ryan Cox and his family. We all took time to go to the farm to see the farm animals, too. Thanks, Travis, for welcoming this extra large family into your home!

I found out that Cambrie was going to learn how to ski. Not wanting to miss her race down the slopes, I decided it was time for me to get back on skis after a 30 year hiatus. Chrissy hadn't ever been skiing so the two of us decided to take a lesson while Dave and Davey hit the slopes. Chrissy was a natural and I felt pretty good about myself at the end of the day. What a great blessing to spend time on the slopes with the kids!

Jayden and Ethan helped me celebrate my birthday. What a great time! We all gathered at Amber's and Jon's house for dinner and visiting. Jayden learned that licorce was AOK.

Matthew and Brent spent the weekend with us. We took them "Redneck Snowboarding" at the top of Fairview Canyon. Dave and I shuttled the boys from the bottom to the top. It was Brent's first time and he did a great job. Matthew, who is a novice, provided Brent with some instruction, but it didn't take much time until Brent was heading downhill on his own. Lex, Travis and Jayden stopped by to say hi. What a great weekend!!!

Dave and I decided that we need a mid-winter Moab break. Amanda, Tyler, and their kids were able to join us. We had a great time. Hadlee decided that she was the hiking expert and told us that we needed to follow her on the "dirt sidewalk". Calvin wasn't quite as excited about the whole hiking thing, but he did enjoy throwing rocks in the Colorado River.
